desmoVet Peer Tutoring

Terms of Service

Version 1.0 · Effective August 1, 2026

1.Who we are

desmoVet Peer Tutoring is a free matching service operated by KB Enterprises LLC. We introduce veterinary students to tutors who have already studied the same material. We charge nothing, to either side.

We are independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any veterinary college. Your school's policies and honor code apply to you in full and take priority over anything here.

By requesting a tutor you agree to these terms and to the Academic Integrity Policy, which is part of this agreement.

2.What we do and don't do

We do: assess tutors before adding them, match you with one suited to your subject, tell you what they charge, and set the conduct and integrity standards they agree to work to. If a tutor doesn't meet those standards, we remove them.

We don't: employ your tutor, set their rates, take a commission, process payments, or schedule your sessions. Tutors are independent individuals who set their own rates and availability and decide how to teach.

We are not a party to your arrangement with your tutor.

Once we introduce you, the agreement is between the two of you. Rates, payment method, timing, cancellations, and refunds are all matters for you and your tutor to agree directly. desmoVet never handles the money and cannot refund, guarantee, or enforce anything either of you agrees to.

Assessment is not a guarantee. We check that a tutor knows their subject and can teach it before adding them, and we act on feedback. That reduces risk; it doesn't eliminate it. We can't guarantee any tutor's conduct, competence, reliability, or the quality of any individual session.

We don't promise results. No tutor and no service can guarantee you a grade, a pass, or a class rank. Anyone who tells you otherwise is being dishonest with you. What we offer is a faster path to understanding the material.

We don't claim to know your curriculum. The program has been restructured and no tutor has completed it in its new form. Tutors are prohibited from implying otherwise or speculating about assessment content.

3.Rates and payment

desmoVet charges you nothing. There is no fee, no commission, and no subscription. Your tutor keeps one hundred percent of what you pay them.

4.Scheduling, cancellations, and disputes

Scheduling, cancellation terms, no-show policies, and refunds are agreed between you and your tutor. desmoVet doesn't set them and can't enforce them. We'd encourage both of you to be explicit about cancellation expectations before the first session, because that's where most misunderstandings start.

If a money dispute arises, it's between you and your tutor — we have no payment to reverse and no authority to compel either side. Please tell us anyway. We can't resolve it, but conduct is exactly the sort of thing that determines whether someone stays on our list.

5.Rematching

Not the right tutor? We'll look for another. Free, as always.

Tutoring is personal and not every pairing works. Tell us and we'll try to match you with someone else. You don't need to explain, and we won't tell your previous tutor why.

Anything already agreed between you and that tutor — including payment for sessions already delivered — stays between the two of you. desmoVet has no part in it.

Please report anything that went genuinely wrong: a tutor who didn't turn up, was clearly unprepared, behaved unprofessionally, or pushed at the academic integrity rules. Email admin@desmovet.com. We can't refund you, but we can and do remove people, and that's how the list stays worth using.

6.Academic integrity

Your tutor cannot help with graded work, discuss exam content, or share school-owned materials. The full rules are in the Academic Integrity Policy and you should read it before your first session.

If you ask a tutor to break those rules, your access to the service ends. We won't report you to your school — we're not an arm of your institution — but we will stop working with you. The only exception is if we're legally required to disclose something, or if we're ourselves the subject of an institutional inquiry, in which case we'll be honest about our own records.

7.Conduct

Treat your tutor as a professional colleague. They're a student too, usually a year or more ahead of you and under the same pressure.

Harassment, discrimination, threats, or abusive behaviour toward a tutor or toward us ends your access immediately with no refund. This has never been a problem and we expect it never will be, but it needs to be written down.

8.Your information and how we use it

What we collect: your name, email, school year, the courses and topics you need help with, your session history, and your feedback.

What your tutor sees: what you write in your intake form and anything you tell them.

What we do with session notes. After each session your tutor writes a short note about what you worked on and where the sticking points were. We use these two ways:

To be concrete: "students frequently confuse these two structures" may become a public study guide. Your name, your specific struggles, and anything identifying you never will. If you'd rather your sessions be excluded from that aggregate entirely, email admin@desmovet.com and we'll flag your account. It costs you nothing and changes nothing else about your service.

Confidentiality. We don't discuss your performance or your use of this service with classmates, faculty, or administrators. Tutors sign a confidentiality obligation covering the same. We may disclose information where legally required.

We don't sell your data, ever, to anyone.

Recording. No session is recorded without your written consent and your tutor's, given for that specific session. You can always say no.

Deletion. Ask us to delete your personal information at admin@desmovet.com and we will, apart from records we need to keep for tax and accounting purposes.

9.Liability

We provide a free introduction service in good faith. Because we charge you nothing and are not a party to your arrangement with your tutor, our liability to you is limited to the fullest extent the law allows.

We are not responsible for academic outcomes, for decisions you make based on a session, for payments or disputes between you and a tutor, or for a tutor's conduct. Tutors are independent individuals, not our employees or agents, and we do not supervise their sessions.

Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.

10.Changes and contact

We may update these terms. Material changes get a new version number and effective date here, and anyone with an active booking gets an email. Continuing to book after a change means you accept it.

Governing law: Colorado.

Questions, problems, complaints: admin@desmovet.com. We answer within one business day.

Request acknowledgment

You confirm the following when you submit a tutoring request:

I've read the Terms of Service and the Academic Integrity Policy. I understand that tutors can't help with graded work or exam content, that each tutor sets their own rate and I pay them directly, that desmoVet is not a party to that arrangement, and that no one is promising me a particular grade.

These terms are a good-faith operating document and are not legal advice.
